Momentum Permissions Overview

Momentum installation is straightforward and involves three key steps. Here’s a breakdown of the necessary system accesses and permissions needed:

Step 1: Installing the Momentum Slack App

Permissions Required:
  • Slack system administrator permissions
Installation Process:
  • Click the provided link to install Momentum in Slack.
What does the installation do?
  • Momentum will access specific Slack permissions, such as posting messages or inviting participants to channels. The app will appear as a Slack app for your team to interact with but won’t proactively contact team members.
Why is this necessary?
  • Momentum’s primary interactions and workflows are built on top of Slack. This integration ensures team members can efficiently use Momentum to update deals and receive notifications and call notes.
Warnings and Considerations:
  • Momentum will not read messages or history from channels it’s not invited to. It doesn’t need access to every channel in your organization.
  • Momentum will not impersonate Slack users. Some operations such as creating new channels will operate with the same level of permissions as a Workspace Member. Limiting access to these features will result in loss of functionality.

Step 2: Granting Momentum Access to Salesforce

Permissions Required:
  • Any user with the Customize Application permission may install Momentum
Installation Process:
  • Authentication and installation takes place via OAuth. There’s no need to change your Salesforce configuration or install a new package.
What does the installation do?
  • Momentum is a highly flexible tool purposefully designed to agentically improve your specific deal cycle. As such, there are different permission configurations based on the use case.

Notes:
  • Installation: Basic OAuth installation only requires Customize Application permission
  • CI, Summary Agents, and Signal Agents: Requires read access to core Salesforce objects
  • CRM Agents: Adds edit permissions for fields that Momentum will update
  • CRM Agents (Advanced): Includes Notifications + Retropilot features using event-based architecture with flows and outbound messages. Required by Momentum to monitor Salesforce system limits and usage.
Why is this necessary?
  • Salesforce integration allows Momentum to read and update CRM data, ensuring your deal information stays current and accurate across all systems.
Warnings and Considerations:
  • Permission levels vary based on the Momentum features you plan to use. Advanced features require additional Salesforce permissions for optimal functionality.

Step 3 (Optional): Granting Momentum Access to Video Conferencing or Call Recording Tools

Permissions Required:
  • Video conferencing administrator permissions
Installation Process:
  • Review the documentation for your specific call recording tool.
What does the installation do?
  • This step allows Momentum AI to collect customer call data, including titles, attendees, transcripts, and video recordings.
Why is this necessary?
  • To analyze customer calls, connect those calls with CRM objects, and update the CRM accordingly, Momentum needs to record and transcribe the calls. Calendar details help detect new meetings and their attendees, while call transcripts provide the content for analysis.
Warnings and Considerations:
  • Depending on your tools, this step may require only administrator access (for Zoom, Gong, Dialpad, and Copilot), or individual reps’ calendar access. These permissions allow Momentum to read calendar events and meetings.

Specific Requirements for Call Recording Tools:

  • Aircall: Requires an Aircall Integration Token.
  • Chorus by ZoomInfo: Requires an API Key and a service account to import video recordings (if applicable).
  • Clari Copilot: Requires a Clari Copilot Integration Token.
  • CloudTalk: Requires a CloudTalk Integration Token.
  • Dialpad: Requires a Dialpad Integration Token.
  • Gong: Requires a Gong Technical Administrator account.
  • Google Meet: Requires a Google Workspace admin.
  • Orum: Requires Orum administrator access and the Webhooks add-on enabled on your Orum plan.
  • Outreach: Requires an Outreach Organization Administrator account.
  • Salesloft: Requires a Salesloft Organization Administrator account.
  • Zoom: Requires a Zoom Business One license and a Zoom Administrator.
  • Vonage Contact Center: Requires API credentials with the necessary scopes and Vonage admin access.
